About XtraMiles Run Club

The club belongs to the people who show up.

A free community running club in Benoni — built for consistency, company and the simple joy of finishing together.

Our story

Why the community exists.

XtraMiles Run Club started because we noticed Benoni needed a welcoming community running club. We want to bring runners together, help people stay consistent, and make running accessible to everyone.

The club is free to join, and runs take place every week. All paces and experience levels are welcome — complete beginners, including people who have never run before, start at the same point as everybody else.

The club is about the people who show up, not just the founders. If you arrive, encourage the person next to you and come back the following week, it is yours too.

There are no qualifying times, no membership interview and no pressure to be fast. Walkers, joggers and race runners move together, and walk breaks are completely normal. The only requirement is turning up.

  • Free to join

No fees and no contracts — turning up is all it takes.

  • Runs every week

Weekly community runs, with the details published on the Runs page.

  • All paces welcome

Walkers, joggers and race runners — beginners included — move together.

Community

Miles are better shared.

Every runner has a story.

Whether it's your first 5 km, getting back into running, or simply finding people to run with, there's a place for you here. As we get going, we'll celebrate the moments and achievements our community shares with us.

We have been glad to see the warm welcome on our Instagram — people saying they are looking forward to the club and to having a relaxed, welcoming space to run in. Thank you for the encouragement: that friendly, no-pressure spirit is exactly what we want the club to feel like.

Real photographs from our runs will be added here after our first runs. Until then, the tiles below are temporary graphic treatments — no photographs of club members are shown.

Member stories & achievements

First 5 km finished, first race entered, tenth consecutive week of showing up — this is where we will celebrate it. Nothing is published here yet: stories and achievements are added after our first runs, and only with the member's permission.

Come and see for yourself.

Join the group, check the next run, and arrive as you are.
